A Movie, Recently Added on NETFLIX, Illuminates Some of the Challenges of Autoimmune Diseases

Brain On Fire | Official Trailer [HD] | Netflix

Video below from Netflix

The movie, Brain On Fire is based Susannah Cahalan‘s book, Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness.  For anyone who is not familiar with the challenges of diagnosing some autoimmune diseases, I urge you to watch this movie.

What is Wrong With Me?

I was introduced to autoimmune disease several years ago, after receiving a positive diagnosis of Hashimoto’s disease.  My symptoms were bizarre, and I was forced to go see my primary care physician after symptoms caused me to cancel a flight and a business trip.

I am thankful that I received a very quick diagnosis, when I finally visited my primary care doctor with my baffling list of symptoms.  Unfortunately, there are instances where a proper diagnosis can be difficult to obtain.

For anyone interested in looking at the possible severity and the sometimes elusiveness of autoimmune disease symptoms, I would recommend watching the movie, Brain On Fire.
